Presto

Connect a Presto query engine to Lakehousecat using a connection URI.

Connection Fields

FieldRequiredDescription
Connection URIYesConnection string including host, port, catalog, and schema. Example: presto://user@host:8080/catalog/schema
Use SSHNoEnable if the Presto coordinator is behind an SSH bastion host. See SSH Tunneling.

Prerequisites

  • Admin or Builder role in Lakehousecat
  • Access to the Presto coordinator (default port: 8080)
  • The catalog and schema you want to expose (e.g., tpch/tiny for built-in test data)

Notes

  • The URI must include both the catalog and schema (e.g., presto://user@host:8080/hive/analytics).
  • Presto does not expose primary key metadata for all catalogs. If Incremental Load detects no merge key automatically, set it manually in the Incremental settings tab.
  • Incremental Load is supported for catalogs that allow write operations (e.g., Hive, Iceberg). Read-only catalogs (e.g., tpch) support Full Load only.

Next Steps

After creating the datasource, go to the Operations tab to trigger semantic extraction.
