Code Snippets & Inspirations

Lakehousecat's development was inspired by various open source projects. All code has been independently developed for data analytics use cases:

  • Open WebUI - Initial design inspiration (historical MIT at time of reference in mid-2024; current upstream uses a modified BSD 3-Clause with branding clause — see upstream LICENSE / LICENSE_HISTORY)
The original Lakehousecat UI (2024) was inspired by Open WebUI's design concepts. Core UI components were independently re-implemented via a cleanroom rewrite (completed 2026-02). Residual utility fragments identified in a 2026-07 audit were removed or rewritten. Lakehousecat is an independent data-analytics product and does not redistribute Open WebUI branding or the Open WebUI application.
Original project: Open WebUI (Copyright (c) 2023- Open WebUI Inc.)
  • dlt (Data Load Tool) - Data pipeline patterns and connectors (Apache-2.0)
  • Various Stack Overflow contributions (CC BY-SA 4.0)
  • GitHub Gists and code examples (various licenses, attributed in source code)

All incorporated code is used in compliance with respective licenses and attributed in our source code comments where applicable.
