Vitess
Connect a Vitess cluster to Lakehousecat using a connection URI. Vitess is a database clustering system for MySQL, widely used in large-scale cloud-native deployments.
Connection Fields
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Connection URI | Yes | Connection string to the VTGate component using the MySQL wire protocol. Example: vitess://user:password@host:3306/keyspace |
| Use SSH | No | Enable if the VTGate is behind an SSH bastion host. See SSH Tunneling. |
Prerequisites
- Admin or Builder role in Lakehousecat
- Access to the VTGate endpoint (the MySQL-compatible entry point of the Vitess cluster)
- A Vitess user with
SELECTaccess to the target keyspace and tables - Default port: 3306 (VTGate MySQL port)
Notes
- Connect to VTGate (not to individual MySQL instances) — VTGate exposes the MySQL wire protocol and handles query routing automatically.
- The keyspace name in the URI corresponds to the database name in standard MySQL terms.
- Incremental Load is supported; use a timestamp column (e.g.,
updated_at) as the merge key.
Next Steps
After creating the datasource, go to the Operations tab to trigger semantic extraction.
