Cloud Services
Lakehousecat connects to cloud-based data services and SaaS platforms via API authentication. Unlike database connections, these sources use OAuth or API key authentication and do not require a server address or connection URI.
Supported Cloud Services
| Service | Authentication | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Google Sheets | OAuth 2.0 | Spreadsheets from Google Sheets as a tabular data source |
| Google Analytics | OAuth 2.0 | Web analytics data from Google Analytics 4 |
| Hugging Face | API Key | Datasets from the Hugging Face Hub |
How Authentication Works
Cloud services authenticate differently from databases:
- Google Sheets and Google Analytics use OAuth 2.0. When creating the datasource, you will be redirected to a Google login page to grant Lakehousecat read access to your data.
- Hugging Face uses a personal access token (API key) from your Hugging Face account settings.
No server credentials, host addresses, or connection URIs are required for these source types.
