PolarDB

Connect an Alibaba Cloud PolarDB instance to Lakehousecat using a connection URI. PolarDB is a cloud-native relational database with PostgreSQL and MySQL compatibility modes.

Connection Fields

Field	Required	Description
Connection URI	Yes	Full connection string using the PostgreSQL-compatible endpoint. Example: polardb://user:password@host:5432/database
Use SSH	No	Enable if the database is behind an SSH bastion host. See SSH Tunneling.

Prerequisites

• Admin or Builder role in Lakehousecat
• A PolarDB user with SELECT access to the target schemas and tables
• The PolarDB cluster endpoint (primary read-write or read-only endpoint)
• Network connectivity — ensure the Lakehousecat backend IP is allowed in the PolarDB cluster's security group

Notes

• Use the PostgreSQL-compatible endpoint with the polardb:// URI scheme. PolarDB MySQL mode is not yet supported.
• Use a read-only endpoint to avoid impacting write operations on the primary cluster.
• Incremental Load is supported; use a timestamp column (e.g., updated_at) as the merge key.
