Agent Capabilities — User Role

As a User, the Agent is your analytical co-pilot. Its primary purpose is to help you generate charts and insights from the connected data, manage your own sessions, and organize reusable prompts.

Chart Generation

Chart generation is the core use case. Describe what you want to analyze — the Agent queries the semantic layer, selects the right visualization, and returns a chart directly in your session.

Example requests:

  • "Show me monthly revenue for the last 12 months as a line chart."
  • "What are the top 10 products by sales volume this quarter?"
  • "Compare website sessions across countries as a bar chart."
  • "What percentage of orders were delivered on time last month?"

The Agent interprets your intent, selects the appropriate dimensions and metrics, and generates the chart. If it needs clarification — for example, if multiple date columns are available — it will ask.

Iterating on Charts

After a chart is generated, you can refine it conversationally:

  • "Make it a pie chart instead."
  • "Filter this to only the EMEA region."
  • "Add a trendline."
  • "Break it down by product category."

Chart Suggestions

In a new session, the Agent can propose charts based on the selected model's data:

  • "What charts can you suggest for this dataset?"
  • "Give me an overview of the most important metrics."

Session Management

The Agent can help you find and manage your past sessions.

RequestWhat the Agent does
"Show my recent sessions"Lists your sessions sorted by last activity
"Find my session about Q1 sales"Searches sessions by keyword
"Archive this session"Archives the current session
"Clone this session"Duplicates the session for further exploration
"Delete session X"Removes a session

Prompts

Prompts are saved query shortcuts, invoked with / in the session input.

RequestWhat the Agent does
"Create a prompt called /weekly-report"Saves the current query as a reusable prompt
"List my prompts"Shows available prompts
"Update the /weekly-report prompt"Modifies an existing prompt
"Delete the /monthly-churn prompt"Removes a prompt

Personalization — Teaching the Agent Your Preferences

The Agent maintains a personal memory for your account. Preferences you express are stored and applied automatically in every subsequent session — you never need to repeat them.

Setting Preferences

Tell the Agent directly, in natural language:

What you sayWhat the Agent remembers
"Always respond in English."Response language
"I prefer horizontal bar charts."Default chart orientation
"Keep your answers concise — skip the explanations."Response verbosity
"Format numbers with a dot as thousands separator."Number formatting
"When I ask for trends, always use a 12-month window by default."Default time range

How the Agent Learns

The Agent does not only learn from explicit instructions. It picks up patterns from your interactions over time — for example, the chart types you tend to accept, the level of detail you engage with, or the topics you come back to. This continuous learning makes the Agent progressively more useful without requiring you to configure anything manually.

You Are in Control

You decide what the Agent remembers. At any point you can instruct it to forget a specific piece of information, or to clear its entire memory of you:

  • "Forget that I prefer English." — Removes that specific preference.
  • "Forget everything you know about me." — Clears your full Agent memory.
  • "Remove the preference about chart orientation." — Removes a single stored attribute.

The Agent follows these instructions immediately. Forgotten information is not carried forward into future sessions.

Viewing Your Stored Memory

  • "What do you know about me?" — The Agent lists everything it has stored for your account.

Your memory is personal and isolated. It is not visible to other users, builders, or administrators.

What Users Cannot Do

The following actions require Builder or Admin privileges:

  • Creating or modifying datasources
  • Creating or modifying AI models
  • Managing other users' sessions or charts
  • User and group management
  • Platform administration

See Builder Capabilities and Admin Capabilities for those features.
