Dashboards
Dashboards group multiple charts into a single consolidated view. Each dashboard is built from charts you own and is linked to a Custom Model. Dashboards are created manually by selecting existing charts — unlike charts, which are generated automatically by the AI.
Visibility and Access
A dashboard you create is only visible to you by default. It does not appear in any other user's view until you explicitly share it. Sharing grants other users access to view the dashboard; it does not change ownership.
To make a dashboard accessible to others, use the Share action. See Sharing for details.
Dashboard Tabs
The Analytics section has three dashboard-related tabs:
My Dashboards
Dashboards you own. Available actions:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Share | Share the dashboard with users or groups |
| Clone | Create a personal copy of the dashboard |
| Delete | Permanently remove the dashboard |
Shared by Me
Dashboards you have shared with others. The only available action is:
- Unshare — revoke access for all recipients
Shared with Me
Dashboards shared with you by others. The only available action is:
- Clone — create a personal copy of the dashboard
Dashboard Detail View
Click on any dashboard to open the detail view. It contains:
- Dashboard visualization — an interactive preview of all charts in the dashboard, embedded via the Superset SDK. Height adjusts automatically based on the number and arrangement of charts.
- Dashboard information — Dashboard ID, title, dashboard type, and number of charts
- Dashboard State & Settings — two toggles:
- Enabled — if disabled, the dashboard is not available for use
- Locked — if locked, the dashboard cannot be edited or deleted
Visualization Actions
When hovering over the dashboard visualization, action buttons appear:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Refresh | Reload the dashboard data and visualization |
| Edit | Open the dashboard in Superset for layout editing |
| Fullscreen | View the dashboard in full screen. Press Escape to exit. |
Editing a Dashboard in Superset
Clicking Edit opens the dashboard directly in Superset. Authentication is handled automatically — no separate login is required. In Superset you can:
- Rearrange, resize, or remove charts within the dashboard layout
- Add titles, text blocks, and dividers
- Adjust filters and visual settings
Changes are saved in Superset and immediately reflected in Lakehousecat.
Creating a Dashboard
Dashboards are created from the Analytics section by clicking the + button in the My Dashboards tab. The creation form shows your chart history — a paginated list of all charts you own. You can search by name to find specific charts.
Requirements:
- Select at least 2 charts
- All selected charts must belong to the same Custom Model — mixing charts from different models is not allowed
- Only your own charts are available for selection
After selecting the charts and entering a title, click Create to build the dashboard.
For a step-by-step walkthrough, see Create a Dashboard.
Audit Log
The detail view includes an Audit Log tab that records all changes made to the dashboard — who changed what and when. Use it for troubleshooting and compliance tracking.
