File Upload
Upload tabular files directly from your local machine to Lakehousecat. Uploaded files are stored internally and become available for semantic extraction and AI analysis.
Supported Formats

Only tabular files are supported. PDF, DOCX, images, and other non-tabular formats cannot be uploaded as datasources.
How to Upload
- On the Data Sources page, click + to open the creation form.
- Select File Upload as the datasource type.
- Enter a name for the datasource.
- Click Click here to select files to open a file picker and select one or more CSV or Excel files.
- Optionally add a description.
- Click Create — files are uploaded and processed immediately.
Multiple Files
You can select multiple files in a single upload. Each file is ingested as a separate table within the datasource.
Prerequisites
- Admin or Builder role in Lakehousecat
- Files in CSV or Excel format
Next Steps
After creating the datasource, go to the Operations tab to trigger semantic extraction.
