StarRocks

Connect a StarRocks database to Lakehousecat using a connection URI. StarRocks is a high-performance analytical database (fork of Apache Doris) designed for sub-second query latency.

Connection Fields

FieldRequiredDescription
Connection URIYesFull connection string including credentials, host, port, and database name. Example: starrocks://user:password@host:9031/mydb
Use SSHNoEnable if the database is behind an SSH bastion host. When enabled, SSH settings fields appear. See SSH Tunneling.

Prerequisites

  • Admin or Builder role in Lakehousecat
  • A StarRocks user with SELECT access to the schemas and tables you want to expose
  • Network connectivity from the Lakehousecat backend to the Frontend (FE) node (direct or via SSH)
  • StarRocks FE default port: 9031 (MySQL protocol)

Notes

  • StarRocks is MySQL-wire-compatible via its Frontend (FE) node — the connection uses the MySQL protocol internally.
  • The connection URI scheme starrocks:// is automatically translated to mysql+pymysql:// for DLT loading.
  • StarRocks uses a PRIMARY KEY model that differs from standard SQL PK metadata — Merge Key Detection may require manual configuration.
  • Incremental Load is supported with manual merge key settings; use a timestamp column (e.g., updated_at) as the incremental column.

Next Steps

After creating the datasource, go to the Operations tab to trigger semantic extraction.
