The General Tab for Datasources within Lakehousecat provides a centralized location for viewing and configuring essential settings of your selected datasource. This page outlines the options available and guidance on how to effectively manage these settings.

Accessing the Datasource​

To reach the Datasource General Tab, follow these navigation steps:

  1. Workspace

    • Begin at your Lakehousecat workspace.
  2. Data Section

    • Click on the 'Data' menu to explore options related to data management.
  3. Select Datasources

    • Choose 'Datasources' and select the specific datasource you wish to configure.

Configuration Options in General Tab​

Name Management​

  • Change Name: Customize the name of your datasource for optimal identification and organization within Lakehousecat.

Connection Parameters Adjustment​

  • Connection Parameters: Modify the connection parameters based on the datasource type, such as the Connection URI. This ensures precise and efficient linking to your external data systems.

Description Input​

  • Enter Description: Provide a comprehensive description of the datasource. This can be done via text entry or voice input, helping other users understand the datasource's purpose and use.

Status Modifications​

You can adjust the datasource's visibility and operability status through the following controls:

  • Disable/Enable: Control whether the datasource is active or inactive based on current needs.
  • Visible: Toggle the datasource's visibility in the system.
  • Locked: Secure the datasource to prevent structural changes. Unlock to perform modifications when necessary.
