Manage Analytics
This guide covers chart generation, charts, and dashboards — the primary analytics artifacts in Lakehousecat.
Generate a Chart
The fastest way to create a chart is analytics generate:
lhc analytics generate "Show revenue by region" \
--datasources 10,1 \
--model awdw \
--wait
--wait blocks until the job completes and prints the final chart result. Omit it to get the job_id immediately and poll manually with lhc analytics job <id>.
Validate SQL before generating
lhc analytics sql-validate "SELECT region, SUM(revenue) FROM orders GROUP BY region" \
--model awdw
Inspect available context
Check which tables and chart types are available for a model:
lhc analytics context-describe --model awdw
Charts
Charts are generated by the AI during chat sessions. You manage them via CLI for listing, sharing, cloning, and cleanup.
List Charts
lhc charts list
Get a Chart
lhc charts get <chart-id>
Search Charts
lhc charts search "revenue"
Clone a Chart
Create an independent copy:
lhc charts clone <chart-id>

lhc charts share <chart-id> --user <user-id>
Share with a group:
lhc charts share <chart-id> --group <group-id>
Delete a Chart
lhc charts delete <chart-id>
Dashboards
Dashboards collect multiple charts into a curated view. They support approval workflows, locking, and fine-grained sharing.
List Dashboards
lhc dashboards list
Filter by model:
lhc dashboards list --model <custom-model-id>
Get a Dashboard
lhc dashboards get <dashboard-id>
Get Dashboard Metadata
lhc dashboards metadata <dashboard-id>
Create a Dashboard
lhc dashboards create --name "Q1 Sales" --model <custom-model-id>
Update a Dashboard
lhc dashboards update <dashboard-id> --name "Q1 Sales — Final"
Delete a Dashboard
lhc dashboards delete <dashboard-id>
Clone a Dashboard
lhc dashboards clone <dashboard-id>
Search Dashboards
lhc dashboards search "sales"

lhc dashboards statistics
lhc dashboards count
Approval Workflow
Lock a dashboard to prevent further edits, then approve it to make it official:
# Lock for review
lhc dashboards lock <dashboard-id>
# Approve
lhc dashboards approve <dashboard-id>
# Revoke approval if needed
lhc dashboards revoke-approval <dashboard-id>
# Unlock to allow edits again
lhc dashboards unlock <dashboard-id>
Sharing
Share with a user or group:
lhc dashboards share <dashboard-id> --user <user-id>
lhc dashboards share <dashboard-id> --group <group-id>
Remove a share:
lhc dashboards unshare <dashboard-id> --user <user-id>
lhc dashboards unshare <dashboard-id> --group <group-id>
View sharing summary for a dashboard:
lhc dashboards sharing <dashboard-id>
View dashboards shared by you or with you:
lhc dashboards shared-by-me
lhc dashboards shared-with-me
