Agent Capabilities — Admin Role
Admins have full access to every platform capability. In addition to all User and Builder features, the Agent gives Admins access to user management, group management, platform monitoring, and low-level infrastructure operations.
All User and Builder Capabilities
Admins have access to everything in User Capabilities and Builder Capabilities.
User Management
Admins can manage user accounts through the Agent.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "List all users" | Returns the full user list |
| "Find users with the Builder role" | Filters users by role |
| "Update Anna's role to Builder" | Changes a user's role |
| "Show statistics for user X" | Returns activity stats |
| "Delete user account X" | Removes a user account |
Group Management
Groups control shared access to models, datasources, charts, and dashboards.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "List all groups" | Returns all groups |
| "Create a group called Analytics Team" | Creates a new group |
| "Add user anna@example.com to the Analytics Team group" | Adds a member |
| "Remove user X from group Y" | Removes a member |
| "Delete the Marketing group" | Removes a group |
Platform Instance & License
Admins can query the current state of the Lakehousecat instance.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "What version is this instance running?" | Returns the current version |
| "Check the license state" | Returns subscription and license info |
| "What is the instance name?" | Returns the configured instance identifier |
Airflow Workflows
Admins can manage Airflow DAGs for advanced workflow automation.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "List all Airflow DAGs" | Returns all available DAGs |
| "Trigger DAG backup-postgres" | Starts a DAG run manually |
| "Check the status of the last run for DAG X" | Returns run status and task states |
| "Pause DAG Y" | Pauses a DAG from auto-triggering |
| "Show task logs for DAG X, run Y, task Z" | Returns detailed task execution logs |
Analytics Data (ClickHouse)
Admins can query the analytics warehouse directly for diagnostics and exploration.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "List all databases in ClickHouse" | Returns all ClickHouse databases |
| "How many rows are in table X of database Y?" | Returns row count |
| "Run a query: SELECT ... FROM ..." | Executes a read-only query |
| "Show all tables in datasource database X" | Lists tables with row counts |
Direct ClickHouse access is a diagnostic and exploration tool. Changes to production data should go through the normal datasource and job workflow.
File Storage (SeaweedFS)
Admins can manage the object storage layer used by Lakehousecat for logs, exports, and uploaded files.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "List all SeaweedFS buckets" | Returns available buckets |
| "How much storage is used in bucket X?" | Returns size and object count |
| "List files in bucket X under path Y" | Returns object listing |
| "Download file X from bucket Y" | Retrieves a file |
Database Diagnostics (Postgres)
Admins can query the Lakehousecat application database for diagnostics. All access is read-only.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "What tables are in the LHC database?" | Returns the schema |
| "Check the migration state" | Returns Alembic migration version |
| "How many active sessions are there?" | Returns session count |
| "Run a diagnostic query on table X" | Executes a read-only SQL query |
Postgres access is strictly read-only and intended for diagnostics. Never use it to modify application data directly.
Analytics Visualization (Superset)
Admins can manage the analytics visualization layer used to render charts and dashboards.
| Request | What the Agent does |
|---|---|
| "List all Superset dashboards" | Returns all dashboards in the visualization layer |
| "Check the sync status for chart X" | Returns the current rendering state |
| "Refresh the visualization layer" | Triggers a re-sync of chart and dashboard metadata |
Modifications to the visualization layer affect all users who have access to the corresponding charts and dashboards. Use with care in production environments.
