Share Chart

Sharing charts within Lakehousecat allows users to collaborate and disseminate insights effectively. This document outlines the procedures for sharing charts to optimize workspace interactions.

Basic Functions

The chart sharing feature in Lakehousecat offers seamless distribution of analytical visualizations:

• Navigation: Users can access chart sharing options by navigating to their Admin Workspace or personal workspace, specifically within the Analytics section. Inside the charts area, select the "More" option followed by "Sharing."

Sharing Process

The sharing process is straightforward, ensuring that charts reach the appropriate audiences:

  1. Initiating Sharing:

    • When a user opts to share a chart, a dialog box appears. This dialog facilitates selection from available groups to share the chart with. The user can choose one or multiple groups based on collaboration needs.
  2. Accessing Shared Charts:

    • Shared charts are organized under specific sections in the Analytics area:
      • Shared by Me: Displays charts initiated by the user.
      • Shared Chart: Lists all individually shared charts.
      • Shared Dashboard: Shows dashboards the user has shared.
      • Shared with Me: Contains charts shared by others with the user.

These sections ensure users can easily access and manage shared charts.

Upon successful sharing, a chart link is generated. This link can be distributed among Lakehousecat users, allowing for broader reach and collaboration.

Access Permissions

Access to shared charts is governed by user groups:

  • Group Membership: Users must be part of the designated group to view the shared chart.
  • Account Requirements: A valid Lakehousecat account with membership in the relevant group is necessary for chart access.

These permissions ensure secured and organized sharing practices.

Disable Sharing

To stop sharing a chart:

  1. Navigate to the Shared by Me section within the Workspace Analytics.
  2. Use the menu options to disable sharing of specific charts.

This process removes visibility from previously shared groups and maintains control over chart distribution.

Best Practices

  • Group Selection: Carefully select groups that will benefit most from the shared charts.
  • Review Access: Regularly check group memberships and permissions to ensure proper access and security.
  • Communication: Share generated chart links via secure channels to prevent unauthorized access.

By following these guidelines, users can effectively share charts within Lakehousecat, fostering collaboration and data-driven insights.
