Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to create data connections. Typically, users with 'builder' or 'admin' roles can set up connections.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start in the Workspace

   • Navigate to your Lakehousecat workspace where you manage data connections.

2. Go to the Data Section

   • Click on the 'Data' menu to explore various data-related options within Lakehousecat.

3. Select "Datasource Types"

   • To view available data sources, select the "Datasource Types" option.

4. Choose "Dremio Datasource Type"

   • Click on the "Dremio Datasource Type" to initiate the configuration process.

Connection Setup

1. Define Connection Details:

   • Enter a connection name. It's recommended to use a consistent naming convention for easy identification.

2. Authentication Credentials:

   • Provide your Dremio username and password.

3. Host Information:

   • Specify the host address where Dremio is running.

4. Driver Information:

   • The connection primarily utilizes the Apache Arrow Flight Driver.
   • Ensure port 32010 is accessible for successful communication.

5. Optional Settings:

   • You may provide a descriptive note about the connection.
   • There is an option to record a description using the voice feature, accessible via the microphone icon.

6. Create Connection:

   • Press the "Create" button.
