Roles
Lakehousecat has three production roles. A user's role is assigned by an Administrator and determines their baseline access level across the platform.
Role Overview
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access to all areas. Manages users, configures providers and models, controls scaling, oversees operations, and handles backup and monitoring. |
| Builder | Can create and manage Custom Models, Data Sources, and Job Definitions. Cannot manage users, configure provider models, or access system-level settings. |
| User | Can use chat, view shared analytics, and interact with published dashboards and charts. Cannot create models or modify any configuration. |
Pending State
Pending is not a production role. It is the state of an account that has been invited but not yet activated by the user. Once activated, the account transitions to its assigned role.
Role Assignment
Administrators assign roles when inviting a user, or change them afterward by clicking the role badge in the Users list. The role cycles through available values on each click.
